Now retired, my last position was at Meta's Reality Labs Research (formerly Oculus Research) managing research on human interactions with virtual and augmented reality. I retain a position as University Professor Emeritus of Psychology and am a former Dean, College of Humanities & Social Sciences at George Mason University. I have worked on applied cognitive research at General Electric, NASA Ames Research Center and Bell Laboratories prior to joining George Mason University in 1984. I also served as a Senior Policy Advisor for Human Factors at the Food and Drug Administration.
