Arjun is an Engineering Manager in Boeing's Flight Deck Engineering unit. He was formerly the Lead Engineer for the 777-9 Flight Deck Human Factors team. In that role, he was responsible for enabling a multi-disciplinary team in accomplishing key certification milestones for the 777-9 program. During his time in Flight deck Engineering, Arjun has led multiple functional and special assignment teams. Before joining Boeing, he held leadership roles within the Advanced Flight Deck team at Collins Aerospace where he led key business portfolios relating to emerging pilot support technologies applicable to commercial and military flight decks, resulting in multiple patented innovations. In his career as a research scientist, Arjun was lead investigator on multiple research efforts, mentored and developed student researchers, and instructed classes in systems engineering and Human Factors. His past research has spanned multiple topics related to sociotechnical system safety, aviation accident modeling, and Human Factors applied to safety-sensitive domains and populations.
He received his Ph.D. from the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering at Purdue University and a master’s degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He received a B. Eng. in mechanical engineering from the R.V. College of Engineering, India. Outside of work, Arjun enjoys exploring the outdoors with his wife and rambunctious Golden Retriever.
