For the STTG members attending the AutomotiveUI 2025 Conference this year, we are pleased to invite you to our workshop entitled "Ensuring Rigor in Systematic Reviews: Designing Risk-of-Bias Tools for Transportation Human Factors"

Location: Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia
    Date: September 22, 2025
Time: 08:30 – 12:30 (Workshop 4 in the AutoUI Program)
Organizers: Dina Kanaan, Suzan Ayas, Mattea Powell, Birsen Donmez, Greg Jamieson (University of Toronto)

Background & Motivation: Systematic reviews and meta-analyses are becoming increasingly common in transportation human factors (HF) and UI research, but the risk-of-bias (ROB) assessment tools we currently use, often adapted from healthcare, don’t always fit our discipline.

    Workshop Objectives:
    ·         Explore why existing ROB assessment tools fall short in transportation contexts
    ·         Discuss best practices for adapting ROB assessment tools to our research needs
    ·         Collaboratively prototype an adapted ROB assessment instrument tailored to transportation HF and UI research

Visit our workshop website for more details: rob-assessment.github.io. Please feel free to connect with me or respond to this post if you're interested in learning more!
