    CEDM Members,
I'm seeking CEDM officer nominations for the Newsletter Editor and the Student Affairs & Awards Officer. Both positions are for two years. To nominate yourself or someone else (with their permission), email me (gilbert@iastate.edu) a CV PDF (shorter is better for voters) and a paragraph to include about you in the voting ballot, e.g., who you are and why you'd be good at this position.
Please send nominations by end of Thursday, Sep 22, and then look for a voting ballot shortly after.
Here's the current officer slate to give you an idea of whom you'd be working with.
    Stephen Gilbert: Chair (2021-2023)
    Michael Dorneich: Chair Elect (2021-2023)
    Mike Rayo: Program Chair (2021-2023)
    Wayne Giang, Secretary/Treasurer (2021-2023)
Martijn IJtsma, Program Chair Elect (2021-2023)
Pouria Salehi: Newsletter Editor (2020-2022) - need nominations
Xiaomei Wang: Student Affairs & Awards  (2020-2022) - need nominations
    Position descriptions:
    - Newsletter Editor:  The newsletter editor is responsible for producing at least two newsletters per year and distributing them to TG members. The newsletter is the vital link between a TG's officers and its members, and its quality and frequency are often associated with members' level of satisfaction with their TG affiliation.
    - Student Affairs & Awards: This office handles the student paper awards. They work with the Program Chair & Chair Elect to determine which are student papers and solicit additional reviews for those. They propose the 3 winners to the officer corps for final approval and coordinate with the students to receive their awards.
Plan to visit the 7 CEDM sessions at the conference, as well as the CEDM business meeting, which will be Wed 5:30-6:15pm in room A706.
Also, if you're feeling touristy and like sports, consider visiting the College Football Hall of Fame, which was built by my cousin. It has some nice interactive usability features. Or if you want to consider the human factors of taste, visit my favorite room at the World of Coca-Cola museum, which has at least 20 spigots of all the drinks that Coke sells around the world, and you can ask yourself, "People in [Country X] really enjoy this taste?!?"
Officer nominations emailed to me, please, by Thu Sep 22, with name, position, CV PDF, and paragraph.
    Stephen
