    Hello everyone,
I am searching for books on the fundamentals of Cognitive Ergonomics. My background includes a M.S. in Industrial & Systems Engineering (ISE) with a focus on Human Factors and a B.S. in ISE with a focus on Information Systems. While Cognitive Ergonomics was covered, I'd like a more in-depth look at the subject basics. All recommendations are appreciated.
    Thank you!

    Here are some options:

The Oxford Handbook of Cognitive Engineering. J. Lee and A. Kirlik, Eds. 2013.
Engineering Psychology and Human Performance. Wickens, Helton, Hollands, and Banbury. 2022. (5th edition).
Designing for People. Lee, Wickens, and Liu. 2017.

Adding to the list, two by Don Norman: The Design of Everyday Things and Emotional Design.

    Happy reading!

Adding to the list - from two of the other pioneers who first coined Cognitive Engineering and Cognitive Systems Engineering! (Don Norman, mentioned above, is another, and so is Emilie Roth, although I don't recall that Emilie has authored any books on the topic, although I did include a citation for arguably the most influential book chapter in early cognitive systems engineering.

These get to one of the central points of cognitive (systems) engineering - that real-world cognition really is joint cognition.

    Enjoy!
