    Dear colleagues,

I hope this message finds you well. I'm reaching out to share an exciting professional development opportunity for engineering graduate students and postdocs at your institution who are within approximately two years of completing their PhD or have recently earned it. This initiative is part of the EngineeringUnleashed community which is focused on supporting the entrepreneurial mindset in engineering across the US.

This Emerging Engineering Educators (EMEE) workshop is a 4-day, sponsored experience designed to support emerging scholars who are curious about careers in academia-whether as faculty or professional staff. This workshop provides an immersive opportunity to:

    • Explore what it takes to launch a career as an academic.
    • Build a network of like-minded peers focused on building the next generation of engineering leaders and educators.
    • Gain tools and insights related to the entrepreneurial mindset to help you stand out as an academic job candidate.

    Key Details:

    • Three summer sessions available: June 8 - 11, 2026 (Nashville, TN), July 7 - 10, 2026 (Boise, ID), July 20 - 23, 2026 (Chicago, IL)
    • Most expenses (e.g., travel, lodging, most meals) sponsored by the Kern Family Foundation
    • Limited spots available - applicants are encouraged to apply early
    • Year-long virtual engagement following the workshops

I would greatly appreciate it if you could share this opportunity with your PhD students and postdocs in engineering (I have attached sample text that could be used for an email). Whether they are fully committed to an academic career or exploring possibilities, this workshop offers a valuable next step.

    Application deadline: February 1, 2026

Please let me know if you have any questions or would like more materials to distribute.

Thank you for helping us connect with the next generation of academic leaders!

    Warm regards,
    Eva
