    The Department of Information Science invites applications for multiple tenure-track/tenured faculty positions at the Assistant Professor and Associate Professor levels in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science (DS). 

    While all competitive applications in these areas will be considered, we particularly encourage:

    • AI applicants focused on use-inspired research, human-AI teaming, neuro-symbolic methods, human language technologies, and ethical AI; and
    • DS applicants focused on research in scalability, cloud-based technologies and crowd work, deep learning frameworks, and on data engineering for and with machine learning.

    Applications are encouraged from candidates with interest in using their focus area(s) to solve socially relevant problems at the intersection of computer, data, and information sciences that are synergistic, mutually supportive, and leverage the strengths of our College, University, and greater geographic region. Within cover letters, candidates should justify how their research interests are complementary to current research of the department.
