Thanks to Scott's lightning talk at the HART TG member conversations today. Here is follow-up information for people who have attended the meeting.

Great discussion today, thank you for the invitation to present.
I have a few follow ups from the discussion, feel free to pass along to the group:
- IMPRINT Research - IMPRINT has been around for a few decades now and there is a lot of research out there. See attached IMPRINT Publication list.
- At the end of the list are a few links to IMPRINT resources as well.
- IMPRINT is free to those in the DoD, Government, and US contractors working on DoD related programs. If someone is interested in getting a copy of IMPRINT or in just learning more about it I am happy to field questions and put them in touch with the keepers of IMPRINT licenses.
- The red-line concept in IMPRINT came up in our discussion as well. A definition of the workload threshold, or the "red-line," is "the point where one traverses safe and effective multi-tasking to dangerous and ineffective multi-tasking" (Hart & Wickens, 2008). The default workload threshold in IMPRINT is 60 and is based on 18 workload studies Micro Analysis and Design (the developers of IMPRINT) did back in the early 90's (Little, Dahl, Plott, Wickens, Powers, Tillman, Davilla, & Hutchins, 1993).
- I have attached an older paper (CRAVES Final Report) to this email which is what IMPRINT refers to when discussing how the workload values and threshold were derived.
- A case study of how we used IMPRINT for looking at optimally crewing next generation rotorcraft can be found on the HF Designworks' website here
- Towards the end of the talk m:N came up. I am one of the co-leads for the sUAS working group as part of the larger m:N working group that will be at AUVSI May 9th and May 11th, in Denver CO. The sUAS working group is comprised of members from NASA, FAA, DoD, Industry, and academia. If someone wants to join they can reach out to me.
- On May 9th from 4:30pm – 5:20pm MT I will be giving an update on our sUAS working group progress, talking about use cases, requirements, challenges, etc.
- On May 11th from 10:30am – 4pm MT I will be part of a larger m:N workshop where we will talk about airspace operations, roles and responsibilities, situational awareness and flight safety

This is a reminder. Our monthly TG member conversations are on the last Tuesdays of each month at 12 pm ET. This is a great learning and networking opportunity in HART TG.
Our April event will be on Tue, April 25th, from 12 pm to 1 pm ET. The topic of the lightning talk will be "Training aviators to better understand, use, and trust automation technologies." Our guest speaker is Mr. Scott Scheff.
Scott Scheff is a founder at several technology companies, including HF Designworks – a user experience research and design firm, and FortiFly - a next-generation aviator technology training and simulation platform. With over 20 years of applied experience, Mr. Scheff has formal training in human factors design, user experience research, and human performance modeling. Mr. Scheff's vast multidisciplinary experiences span both the commercial and government sectors. Products include design and development of wearable computers for Army infantrymen, blue force tracking for ground vehicles, unmanned vehicle command and control systems, as well as a host of medical and consumer devices.
A rough agenda is about 10 min lightning talk, followed by Q&A and group discussions. We are trying the big group approach rather than the small groups this year. Think about questions you may want to ask Scott and the group about aviation and training.
