Greetings HFES CEDM TG members,
We are preparing our first edition our newsletter, Cognitia, for 2023. This newsletter will be based around the theme: 40 years of Cognitive Systems Engineering. We have received an excellent feature piece recapping the past 40 years of the field.
We have a few other slots to fill:
- A series of vignettes (1–2 paragraphs, ~250 words) chronicling important landmarks of the field.
- New publications or talks of interest (recommendations of a sort), especially books and larger-form works, but articles are acceptable. (<100 words and a link)
- Current events of relevance; consequential events of the past few months and relevant journalism concerning public life, commercial life, and CEDM topics (<100 words and a link, e.g., this NYT Magazine article on Tesla crashes and regulatory action)
- Announcements (e.g., news from your organization-especially if you are starting something new, solicitations for journals, graduating students and links to their theses/dissertations, obituaries, job postings, deadlines, resources)
- Calendar Events (esp. virtual or hybrid events that all members can attend)
For those interested, I look forward to collaborating with you on this upcoming newsletter. Please email me at cochran.420@osu.edu with a draft of your addition or to schedule a meeting.
Best,
Aaron Cochran

P.S., If this newsletter is not a good fit for your content, consider planning a contribution to our next newsletter. Our Spring Newsletter will be a collaboration with the Healthcare Technical Group as a recap of CEDM-relevant content from the HFES International Symposium on Human Factors and Ergonomics in Health Care.
