Figure 1. 2024 HART TG Election (43 out of 409 HART TG members voted)
Dear HART TG members,
1. I am pleased to announce our newly elected HART TG officers:
- Areen Alsaid (University of Michigan-Dearborn) - 2025 HART TG Vice Chair (TG VC)
- X. Jessie Yang (University of Michigan) - 2025 HART TG Program Vice Chair (Program VC)
Our current TG Chair-elect Kelly Neville (MITRE) will step up to be the TG Chair, and TG Program Chair-elect Güliz Tokadli (Collins Aerospace) will step up to be the TG Program Chair in 2025. Their excellent leadership will continue to carry out our TG mission. Other positions (e.g. secretary, webmaster) will be appointed by these Chairs, according to HFES's new election policy.
I want to take the opportunity to thank all the other candidates (Heather Lum - Arizona State University, Nathan Lau - Virginia Tech, and Katya L. Le Blanc - Idaho National Laboratory) and interested individuals for your willingness to serve the members of this TG. Your effort is highly appreciated. We will make arrangements to involve you in our ongoing TG development and hope you will run for officer positions again in the near future.
2. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to our outgoing officers for their outstanding service over the past two years:
- Joseph Lyons (AFRL), our TG Program Chair, for his leadership and dedication in the annual conference paper review and session organization.
- Ericka Rovira (West Point), our TG Secretary & Treasurer, for her support in organizational work and financial management.
- David Grimm (ASU), our TG Webmaster & Newsletter Editor, for keeping our online presence and communication channels running smoothly.
Your contributions have been invaluable, and we deeply appreciate your commitment to advancing the mission of the HART Technical Group.
I will continue to support the officers in TG development as a committee member, together with other willing committee members. Our committee members may provide feedback and contribute thoughts, while the officers make the final decisions on all TG-related matters.
3. I also want to express my gratitude to our TG members for your active participation in our TG networking activities, submitting research papers to the annual conference, attending the annual conference, and volunteering to assist with reviews and chairing sessions. Your support is crucial to the flourishing of the TG, and we deeply appreciate your ongoing contributions.
4. For those who recently joined HART, here are our annual business meeting slides (link here) for you to understand our TG progress this year.
Happy Holidays to you all! Looking forward to a year with HART TG's new leadership team.
Best regards,
Lixiao
