Ashley M. Hughes, PhD has experience conducting experimental and quasi-experimental mixed method human factors studies, with specific focus on training, technology, and teamwork in healthcare. Dr. Hughes currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical and Health Information Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago and director of the Systems-based Approach For Enhancing Teamwork (SAFE-T) in healthcare lab. Ashley has contributed to proposals resulting in funding from Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), National Institutes of Health, Department of Defense (DoD), Army Research Lab (ARL), and Air Force Research Lab (AFRL). This work includes interdisciplinary collaborations to complete projects related to training transfer, healthcare team training, assessment of teamwork, and the impact of technology on teams.
