Surface Transportation Technical Group

Hello HFES STTG Members,

As the chair of the Surface Transportation Technical Group (STTG), I'm excited to share the following updates and opportunities:

• We have four different communication platforms:
  • Connect (https://connect.hfes.org/home): We use Connect to quickly get information to members about opportunities. If you do not automatically get messages from Connect forwarded to your email, please contact info@hfes.org.
  • STTG website (http://hfessttg.blogspot.com/): We use the website for longer form communication, like our monthly member's spotlight.
  • LinkedIn group (https://www.linkedin.com/groups/1179867/): LinkedIn is used for job and research opportunities. The group is private so if you want to join, just submit a request and we'll approve it.
  • X, follow us: @hfes_sttg
• Please let me know if you wish to be featured in the monthly member spotlight.
• We will continue advertising the various labs who do research on transportation safety and Human Factors. Please fill out this form (https://forms.gle/RqhRZho9cMQHod4y8) and we will add the lists of labs to our website.
• We have a great STTG leadership team and STTG communications team that I have had the pleasure of working with these past few months. Eric Fichtel is our Technical Program Chair and is handling the paper submission process for the Annual Meeting. Yiqi Zhang is our Vice Program Chair and Brandon Pitts is our Vice Chair. We also have an amazing communications team: Kayli Battel, Patrick Edwood, and Elena Zhang. Justin Mason and Shannon Roberts have been instrumental in training and supporting our teams to ensure we continue to grow and represent our STTG members.  If you want to get involved in the STTG, please let me know.
