The University of Michigan Center for Occupational Health and Safety Engineering (COHSE) is seeking to recruit an outstanding post-doctoral fellow under the
mentorship of faculty conducting cutting-edge cross-disciplinary research in occupational health sciences. Our ongoing research is extensive and spans
exposure and risk sciences, occupational and environmental epidemiology, ergonomics and safety, and occupational health nursing (see https://cohse.umich.edu/research-faculty/research/). This position is supported by a T42 training grant funded by the National Institute of Occupational Health Sciences. The grant supports the University of Michigan Center for Occupational Health and Safety Engineering, which has the mission of serving the region, nation, and world as a center of excellence for research and graduate education in occupational health and safety (OHS). Since inception in 1982, COHSE has supported comprehensive graduate-level educational programs to aspiring practitioners and researchers in Industrial Hygiene (IH), Occupational and Environmental Epidemiology (OEE), Occupational Health Nursing (OHN), and Occupational Safety Engineering and Ergonomics (OSE) to help meet the nation's needs for qualified practitioners and researchers. Our academic programs span the School of Public Health, the College of Engineering, and the School of Nursing.
This position is for a one year term. A second year is possible with sufficient progress shown and availability of funding. The successful candidate will be encouraged to identify a mentoring team; participate in ongoing research; independently come up with research ideas that align or complement the mission of the Center; conduct laboratory, field, or secondary research; compose scientific manuscripts and conference presentations; and most importantly, become a productive member of the
    scientific community.
