CogSIMA 2026 - Call for Papers

Theme: Expanding the Situation Awareness Boundary • General Chair: Dr. Jamie Gorman (ASU)
The IEEE Conference on Cognitive and Computational Aspects of Situation Management (CogSIMA) invites contributions advancing theory, methods, and applications of situation awareness and situation management in complex socio-technical systems. We welcome work from academia, industry, and government spanning human factors, AI/ML, robotics, autonomy, cyber-physical-social systems, and decision sciences.
Submission Types

Regular Papers (5–8 pages) - mature results and novel methods; oral presentation

Poster Papers (3–5 pages) - work-in-progress, demos, and late-breaking ideas; poster + lightning talk
Topics of Interest (include, but are not limited to):
Human–AI teaming and cognitive architectures; autonomous systems and decision support; cognitive information fusion; sensing, perception, comprehension, and projection; explainable/generative AI for SA; ontology/context modeling; evaluation metrics and benchmarks; neuroergonomics and brain–machine interfaces; large language models for situation understanding; field/operational studies in domains such as defense, healthcare, transportation, smart cities, and cybersecurity.
Accepted papers/posters will be submitted to IEEE Xplore®.
