    Hello HFES Student Members!

    The HFES Augmented Cognition Technical Group (AC-TG) is still soliciting proposals for the 2022 Student Research Grant. This grant supports student research on Human Factors with an emphasis on human cognition. HFES student members from diverse backgrounds are invited to participate.

    The grant is open to ALL HFES student members. AC-TG will offer one award of $500 for research expenses including, but not limited to, purchase of research materials, paying participants, partial payment for equipment, etc. 

    Each submitted proposal will be evaluated on the following criteria:

    • Clarity in presentation of ideas
    • Clarity of research methods and methodology appropriateness
    • Relevance of project to current psychological theory
    • Project's potential to advance research in a specified area (theoretical and practical)


    Submission requirements

    To have the grant proposal considered, the following information needs to be submitted:

    1) A Cover Letter (one page) that includes:

    • Name and Current mailing address
    • Telephone number and e-mail address
    • University Affiliation
    • A summary of the proposal


    2) A Letter from Faculty Advisor (one page) that describes:

    • Faculty support for the project
    • The applicant's capabilities in completing the project
    • Potential benefits of the grant on the applicant's academic development


    3) Proposal Narrative (up to three pages) that includes:
     

    • A title of the research project
    • Specific objectives of the current project
    • Proposed methodology
    • Budget and budget justification 
    • Theoretical and practical implications
