Dear Safety TG community,
Now that we have (hopefully) settled into the New Year, it is time to start thinking about the Safety TG initiatives for 2020 and how the committee can best meet our members' needs and expectations. In this context, the Safety TG committee would like to announce several initiatives that will be implemented throughout the year:
- Newsletter - We will reinstate the Safety TG Newsletter, to be delivered on a triannual basis (every four months). Please contact our newsletter editor, Ali (alialjaroudi@gmail.com) for suggestions of topics
- Mentorship Scheme: We have committee members who are looking into the feasibility of initiating a mentorship program specific to the Safety TG. The goal would be to match students and early career professionals to more experienced members. We will issue more details on the progress of this initiative throughout the year. Let us know if you have any feedback!
- Monetary awards: The committee are discussing making available monetary awards for Best Student Paper. An announcement regarding this will be released once the initiative has been confirmed
From all of the Safety TG committee, we want to encourage all members to engage in the community pages, as well as the TG as a whole, e.g. raising topics for discussion, questions, suggestions, or feedback for any needs that are not currently being met by the TG.
