The Polytechnic School at Arizona State University (JOB# 12960) invites applications for one Postdoctoral Research Scholar position in the Advanced Distributed Learning Partnership Laboratory (ADL@ASU) directed by Scotty Craig. The lab is currently working on an evaluation project for the PERvasive Learning System (PERLS). PERLS is an open content micro learning platform that implements self-directed learning and self-regulated learning theories to support adult online learning. The postdoctoral research scholar will be working on the project funded by the Advanced Distributed Learning Initiative of the Department of Defense to (a) design and implement evaluations of the PERLS system and (b) explore factors that influence the systems effectiveness during application. The candidates will be involved in working with an interdisciplinary team to perform verification, validation, and experimental evaluations of the system with learning organizations within the US military and federal government. The ideal candidates are interested in working in a collaborative research lab, particularly one focusing on learning and cognitive sciences.
 

Educational Technology Design and Evaluation: The postdoctoral research scholar will focus on rigorously designing, developing, and testing new modules within an existing micro learning system, PERLS. This candidate should have experience in system design and usability (UX/UI) assessment and applied experimental research methods.

The positions are full-time, benefits-eligible appointment with no tenure implications. Anticipated start date is as early as August 12, 2019.
 
The qualifications for this position include: must have earned a Ph.D. in learning sciences, educational psychology, human factors, or psychology, or in a related field within the past four years. (Candidates that are ABD at the time of application and can show evidence of eminent Ph.D. completion will also be considered.)
