Hello HFES Community,

The Extended Reality Technical Group (XRTG) has been gaining momentum over the past twelve months and we are gearing up for the year ahead. With that said, we have FOUR (4) leadership positions within the TG up for election. If you're looking to get more involved within the society and directly influence its future success, this is a great opportunity!

WE WILL HOLD THE ELECTIONS: 01 SEPTEMBER - 14 SEPTEMBER 2023. Winners will be announced shortly thereafter. We will also celebrate our new TG Officers at the upcoming HFES Annual Meeting in Washington, DC during the XRTG Business Meeting.

POSITIONS:

XRTG Program Chair-Elect (No Students): The program chair-elect assists the program chair with the technical review of papers for the annual meeting. The program chair is responsible for managing the assignment of reviews across all submissions within the TG, as well as making final determination on Accept/Reject decisions. This leadership position also leads the coordination and scheduling of all XRTG related activities conducted during the HFES Annual Meeting. The Program Chair-Elect assists the current Program Chair as needed and will assume full chair responsibilities at the conclusion of the 2023 HFES Annual Meeting (Initiating a 2-Year Term); Position requires FULL HFES MEMBERSHIP.

Secretary: The Secretary works closely with the Chair on all TG-related business items. This includes forecasting and managing TG events for items like paper awards, socials/networking events, travel awards, expert speakers etc. Secretary is a 2-Year Term.

Newsletter Editor: The Newsletter Editor leads the development of the Bi-Annual XRTG Newsletter. This is a creative position focused on sharing relevant and exciting news across the community for anything and everything XRTG related. We will examine new modern approaches to communicating with our members and prospective new members, and this position will take lead on that endeavor. Newsletter Editor is a 2-Year Term.

Webmaster: The webmaster is responsible for maintaining and modernizing the current XRTG website. This involves managing appropriate updates to the site, while identifying new and exciting approaches to organize content and engage with our community. Webmaster is a 2-Year Term.
