The EXTENDED REALITY TECHNICAL GROUP is concerned with human factors issues associated with human-virtual environment interaction. These issues include maximizing human performance efficiency in virtual environments, ensuring health and safety, and circumventing potential social problems through proactive assessment. For VE/VR systems to be effective and well received by their users, researchers need to focus significant efforts on addressing human factors issues. Hello, XRTG Members! When you answer the HFES Annual Meeting Call For Papers this year, consider ways your paper may overlap with other TGs. Why, you ask? Well...

The XRTG is excited to announce a partnership with the Training Technical Group (TTG) for a joint session at the upcoming HFES Annual Meeting. We encourage submissions that focus on the intersection of training-related use cases involving XR technologies to maximize human performance and skill retention.  This includes work studying the application of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality environments that advance the state-of-the-art in training and experiential learning across a variety of domains.  If you're doing work in these spaces, we encourage you to submit to our TGs, and we look forward to highlighting these intersections in the agenda for the 2023 annual meeting in Washington, D.C.

    All the best!
