The EXTENDED REALITY TECHNICAL GROUP is concerned with human factors issues associated with human-virtual environment interaction. These issues include maximizing human performance efficiency in virtual environments, ensuring health and safety, and circumventing potential social problems through proactive assessment. For VE/VR systems to be effective and well received by their users, researchers need to focus significant efforts on addressing human factors issues.     Hello VETG!

    We had an excellent Annual Meeting in Atlanta and we're gearing up for the year ahead.

    With that said, we have two positions within the Virtual Environments TG up for election, including VETG Chair-Elect and Treasurer (Role Descriptions Below).

    WE ARE HOLDING NOMINATIONS: 25 OCT - 04 NOV 2022.

    If you are interested, or know someone who is, please reach out to me directly (bgoldberg82@gmail.com; benjamin.s.goldberg.civ@army.mil). In the email please provide information on your current professional affiliation along with a short 200-word bio. Feel free to add a few sentences on your goals within HFES and the position you are seeking.

    WE WILL HOLD THE ELECTIONS: 07 NOV - 16 NOV 2022. Winners will be announced shortly thereafter.

    POSITIONS:
    VETG Chair-Elect: The TG Chair has overall responsibility to ensure that the group meets its minimum requirements. The chair works with the elected TG officers to ensure TG activities are being carried out. The Chair-Elect assists the current chair as needed and will assume full chair responsibilities at the conclusion of the 2023 HFES Annual Meeting (Initiating a 2-Year Term).

    Treasurer: The Treasurer works closely with the Chair on all TG-related financial items. This includes forecasting and managing TG budgets for items like paper awards, socials/networking events, travel awards, expert speakers etc. Treasurer is a 2-Year Term.
