    Dear HFES members,

Thanks to the many of you who attended Macroergonomics Technical Group sessions at ASPIRE last week!

If you were unable to attend the METG Business meeting, here is a summary of the key announcements:

    • METG (as all other technical groups) is currently accepting nominations for TWO leadership positions: the Vice Chair position (serve 1 year as Vice Chair and then automatically advance to Chair the following year) and Vice Program Chair (serve 1 year as Vice Program Chair and then automatically advance to Program Chair the following year). Nominate yourself at this link (there is no need to ask someone else to nominate you, self-nomination is welcome)! Please reach out if you have curiosities about what these roles entail.

    • Alternatively, if you are looking to be involved in the METG, but not ready/willing/interested to serve as a Vice Chair or Vice Program Chair, we have the ability to appoint any other technical group leadership roles. Our current leadership is interested in filling, in particular, an "Awards Chair" (to manage our awards submission and review process--this is still being created and we will be here to support you), a "Communications and Newsletter Chair" (to manage posting and communicating regularly with membership), and a "Webinar Chair" (to coordinate 1-3 webinars over the year on Macro-related topics). If any of these are of interest to you, or you have a different idea of how you can contribute to the TG, please reach out directly to me (Hanna, hbarton@wisc.edu).

    • Last, but certainly not least, please save the date and submit abstracts to the 15th International Symposium on Human Factors in Organizational Design and Management (ODAM), which will be hosted June 8-10, 2026 at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT. We coordinate this triennial conference with the International Ergonomics Association (IEA) Organizational Design and Management (ODAM) Technical Group. The conference theme is: "Innovating for the Future: Human-Centered Organizational Design in the Age of Emerging Technologies and Evolving Work." The first call for submissions will close mid-November (yes, we are going to extend past the 10/31 date currently on the site, so keep an eye out).
