Hello,
The University of Idaho is looking for a research-oriented faculty member in psychology or related field. The position is pretty wide open, but a person with a human-factors or applied experimental/cognitive psychology background would be a great fit for the program and we would love to add this position to our Human Factors Graduate Program. The position will be in the psychology department, but with strong interdisciplinary focus and a great support structure through the Institute for Modeling Collaboration and Innovation (IMCI).
Other support can come from the National Institute of Advanced Transportion Technology if you are dealing with surface transportation issues. In addition, the University of Idaho provides exceptional, interdisciplinary support to researchers in the areas of machine learning, computer vision, and any other big-data applications. The Research Computing and Data Services (RCDS) unit is a wonderful group of researchers, programmers, and full-stack web-developers who help faculty tackle difficult computational issues - if you have research ideas that require powerful machine learning or artificial intelligence applications, whether in your data analysis or as research tools, they are there to help you realise them even if you are not fully versed in these technologies ...
I have posted the text of the advertisement of the position below. The direct link is here: Regular Faculty - Psychology
I will be at the conference and available to chat about this position. Feel free to reach out via email to me or the search chair, Dr. Todd Thorsteinson, tthorste@uidaho.edu if you have any questions.

Human Factors Program
------------------------------------------------------------------
The Department of Psychology and Communication in the College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Idaho invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant or associate professor in psychology or related discipline. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research includes expertise in modeling, broadly defined. Candidates whose research dovetails with the University's strategic goals in the areas of health, science and technology are strongly encouraged to apply.
Area of expertise may be unique but may also complement existing areas of expertise within the department. Candidate must be able to teach courses serving the psychology majors at the undergraduate level. Candidates are expected to show a strong potential for excellence in research and should have a Ph.D. in psychology or related discipline by the date of appointment.
This position is part of a cluster hire to build on our strength in mathematical, statistical, and computational modeling. The successful candidates will have an opportunity affiliate with the Institute for Modeling Collaboration and Innovation (IMCI). IMCI is funded in part by a grant from the National Institutes of Health and serves as the epicenter for a vibrant research community focused on bringing modeling to collaborative research. Interdisciplinary research is enhanced by regular interactions among researchers with diverse expertise. Projects are formalized as IMCI Working Groups, which include faculty, research staff, postdocs, and graduate and undergraduate students, usually from multiple disciplines. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to join existing groups or form new groups aligned with their research interests.
