This year we have an opening for an assistant professor position in the School of Mechanical, Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering (MIME). The position is to support the Industrial Engineering (IE) Program. Methodologically speaking, the position calls for knowledge of generative AI/machine learning/deep learning algorithms/technologies as well as cognitive systems engineering tools. Application areas include embodied AI or robotics, AI for healthcare systems, or AI for transportation systems design and development. In general, we are seeking persons with interest in working on large-scale human-in-the-loop systems optimization through AI. The position requires both graduate and undergraduate teaching as well as development of an independent sponsored research program.
The initial round of application screening is scheduled for October 3, 2025.
