    Dear HART TG members,

One of the approaches to fulfill our HART TG's mission is to engage multidisciplinary TG members in scientific discussions and practices. Our monthly TG member conversations are held on the last Tuesdays of each month at 12 pm ET. This is a great learning and networking opportunity in HART TG.  We still have March 26, April 30, June 25, July 30, and August 27 slots open for speakers this year. Contact Lixiao to suggest topics and/or speakers.

Our next event will be tomorrow, Tue, January 30th, from 12 pm to 1 pm Eastern Time. The topic of the lightning talk will be "Center for Human, AI, and Robot Teaming (CHART): Capabilities and Opportunities
" Our guest speaker is Dr. Nancy Cooke from Arizona State University. Thanks to Nancy for kicking off our 2024 monthly member conversations.

Nancy J. Cooke is a professor in Human Systems Engineering at the Polytechnic School, one of the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University. She was the first director and is now Senior Scientific Advisor for Global Security Initiative’s Center for Human, AI, and Robot Teaming CHART. She received her PhD in Cognitive Psychology from New Mexico State University in 1987.  Dr. Cooke is a Past President of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society and the past chair of the Board on Human Systems Integration at the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine. Professor Cooke’s research interests include the study of individual and team cognition and its application to the development of cognitive and knowledge engineering methodologies, remotely-piloted aircraft systems, human-robot teaming, and emergency response systems. More information about Nancy can be found on this website.

A rough agenda: 5-minute announcements from TG members, 10-15 minute lightning talk, followed by Q&A and group discussions. Think about questions you may want to discuss with the speaker and the group, for example, how is running a center different from running a lab?

I hope to see you at the meeting.

    Best regards,

Many thanks to Nancy for presenting and to the audience for participating in a great discussion session at our HART TG January member conversations. The slides are included here

This year, we are recording the TG monthly meetings per member requests. We will make the recordings as unlisted YouTube links to share with TG members later, so members can access them but the public cannot search for them. For earlier access you can have the link to the Zoom website (valid for 120 days): https://asu.zoom.us/rec/share/KqqqZAmdurKX0OqrLFg5cfoNG3stuDdvqOIVxu3I2-x3Sfkf9Jot2ML2Flu_wkZW.-V0aG4g8gb4qclqQ
    Passcode: bw9R?Ojm

As a follow-up, to identify all the research centers out there that are related to our HART TG, I created a spreadsheet that members can view and edit: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-I7LGBQ3XtCAlJ0IxdfX4ZfSqk6Bghj9RyRdWRBZhoI/edit#gid=0

    Best regards,
    Lixiao
