The AEROSPACE SYSTEMS TECHNICAL GROUP is concerned with the application of human factors to the development, design, certification, operation, and maintenance of human-machine systems in aviation and space environments. The group addresses issues for civilian and military systems in the realms of performance and safety.

    The Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering, ae.gatech.edu at Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for a non-tenure track Research Faculty position to support sponsored research projects related to cognitive systems engineering projects in the aerospace domain, with specific emphasis on Space Operations, Space Domain Awareness and Vertical Lift. Applicants will be considered at all ranks.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Administering projects
    • Executing research tasks
    • Engaging with research sponsors
    • Coordinating with vendors to procure materials and equipment
    • Preparing research reports and presentations
    • Collaborating with faculty members and graduate students

    Required Qualifications

    Research Engineer I

    • Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering or related area.

    Research Engineer II

    • A Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree, or
    • A Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree, or 
    • A Doctoral degree.
