The International Symposium on Aviation Psychology (ISAP) has been organized 21 times, biennially over the past 40 years. We are thrilled to announce that the tradition will continue with the 22nd ISAP, to be held at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Rochester, NY, USA, May 31-June 3, 2023, with in-person attendance.
Our format will be in-person plenary and lecture sessions, the traditional practitioners' and researchers' panels, best student paper competition, and poster sessions. We will do our best to make much of the symposium hybrid, to allow for online participation to help those who may not be able to travel to attend.
ISAP is a venue for research on human performance within aviation systems, and for design solutions tailored to human aptitudes and constraints. We welcome proposals
- On any topics within aviation psychology, and on any basic or applied research that speaks to issues of human performance in socio-technical systems.
- Behavioral, neuroscientific, computational, and other approaches are all appropriate.
We especially encourage submissions for planned special sessions on
- Artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning (ML) in aviation automation, and
- Cybersecurity in aviation infrastructure and operations.
All presenters will be invited to contribute a max. 6-page paper to the symposium proceedings, to be published at the time of the symposium.
Proposal submission is open:
https://forms.gle/LjHkc4h23oUYUbrA6Proposals will be reviewed as they arrive and authors informed about acceptance of their contributions. Final papers on accepted proposals are due on May 1, 2023.
