Dear STTG colleagues,
The HFES Annual Meeting – ASPIRE – 'call for proposals' deadline is Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 11:59pm (EST). Please be aware that HFES has made several changes to the submission process that are intended to increase practitioner involvement in the conference.
In summary, authors are asked to submit only an initial extended (structured) abstract of 1,250 words. During the submission process, authors will select up to 5 keywords and will also have the choice of selecting a Technical Group. Submissions deemed relevant to the STTG will be peer-reviewed by multiple STTG colleagues. Notifications of acceptance will be sent to authors by April 19, 2024, at which time they will have three options:
· Extend abstract to a traditional 5-page paper
· Publish accepted abstract
· Do neither
Call for STTG Proposals: We strongly encourage submissions that fall broadly within the area of surface transportation and that appeal to academics, researchers, practitioners, industry, and government/military professionals. More information about this new process can be found here: https://www.hfes.org/Events/ASPIRE-The-International-Annual-Meeting/Call-for-Abstracts
You can submit your work here: https://ssl.linklings.net/
Call for STTG Reviewers: We are also in need of several reviewers for the new submission process. If you are interested in volunteering to review papers, please complete the form here: https://forms.gle/KYJPxC7Ds9o9u4XC9
*** Students who review at least 4 submissions for the STTG will be entered into a raffle to win discounted registration to attend the HFES Annual Meeting. We hope this will promote student participation and help to offset the cost of the conference.
Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions.
We look forward to your submissions and hope to see you in Phoenix!
