Hi XR community,
Mike and I want to organize a discussion panel at the upcoming HFES on the topic of Accessibility in XR. We are looking for approximately six members for the panel. The format would be a 5-minute introduction of your background and work, with the rest of the time available for discussion and audience questions.
We are hoping to cover the topic broadly, sample topics could include:
- How to make XR more accessible using Hardware or software design or research
- How to make XR interfaces or environments more accessible (e.g., input methods, multi or alternative sensory input)
- Specific types of XR platforms (e.g., VR, AR, other mixed reality)
- Best practices or how to improve accessibility with specific user groups (e.g., older adults, mobility, vision, sensory limitations)
- A focus on different XR use cases (e.g., education, training, health care, social)
- How to apply accessibility learnings from other research areas or platforms to XR
- Conducting XR accessibility research with stakeholders
- Other topics at the intersection of accessibility and XR
If you want to be a part of the panel and speak about your work on topics such as those above or have other ideas, please contact either Michael Rupp (malanrupp@gmail.com) or Aaron Gluck (amgluck@g.clemson.edu).
Thanks!
Mike and Aaron
