The Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) Affinity Group is committed to creating a community within the Society to connect thought leaders, senior managers, mid-career / young professionals, and students that identify as BIPOC – including Black, Indigenous, Asian, Latinos and Hispanics across the globe – to enhance the recruitment, retention, and professional growth of BIPOC in the HF/E field.     Hi all! Just wanted to let you know about a webinar organized by the BIPOC Affinity Group for the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Webinar Series.

    Dr. Nina Jablonski, Evan Pugh University Professor of Anthropology, The Pennsylvania State University.

    In this time of reckoning with racial inequity and injustice it is imperative to understand the pervasive and profound impacts of racism which are endemic in our society. The negative impacts can affect communities of color health, education, wealth and employment.  This webinar will introduce the adverse impacts of racism of health, as well as describing how racial/ethnic consideration is not often incorporated into the design process of technology.
