The EXTENDED REALITY TECHNICAL GROUP is concerned with human factors issues associated with human-virtual environment interaction. These issues include maximizing human performance efficiency in virtual environments, ensuring health and safety, and circumventing potential social problems through proactive assessment. For VE/VR systems to be effective and well received by their users, researchers need to focus significant efforts on addressing human factors issues. Hi Virtual Environments TG,

Do you use extended reality technology to design medical devices? I am researching how medical industry professionals are designing, using, and testing extended reality systems.

I am looking for people who have used, attempted to use, or are familiar with the use of extended reality technology within their company, including operators, maintainers, users, builders, and management.

Share your experience using extended reality technology with me. The survey questions are non-proprietary. The survey is online due to the COVID19 pandemic and takes about 30 minutes to complete.

Email me at toure023@umn.edu to receive the survey link.

Remember to share this study with your coworkers or colleagues.

Please reach out if you have questions. Thank you for your time!

    Bethany

About me: I am a PhD candidate from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis studying the usability of extended reality systems in the medical industry, for both the design of medical devices and in clinical settings.
