      EXTERNAL MESSAGE

Please share the following vacancy announcements to your contacts that might be qualified and interested in the following jobs.  Note that some positions open only to "Federal Employees," as those positions are only open to candidates who are current or former Federal Government employees.  Other positions are labeled "U.S. Citizens" and are open to any candidate, provided they are US citizens.  All of these positions are within the FAA's Aviation Safety Organization.  High level information about the FAA's AVS organization and also about the human factors work within AVS can be found on the following public websites:

    https://www.faa.gov/aircraft/air_cert/design_approvals/human_factors/

    https://www.faa.gov/about/office_org/headquarters_offices/avs/

Please note that if you are interested in any or all of these positions, you should click the links below and apply for the position on-line using the USAJobs portal.  Please do NOT send your resume to me, or any of the other FAA's human factors specialists.  Only candidates who apply directly through the website portal will be considered.

When deciding which position(s) to apply for, pay special attention to the "area of consideration" (U.S. Citizens vs. Federal Employees) and the educational requirements.  The jobs listed below as "Engineering Psychologists" require a degree in Psychology (or equivalent), because they have been categorized by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) as a "180" job series (per the "Series/Grade" column below, where you will see those jobs noted as "FV-180-J").  The jobs listed below as "Aerospace Engineer" require an Engineering degree (or equivalent), because they have been categorized by OPM as a "861" job series.

All of the requirements and specifics for each position are listed within the individual job postings, which you can see when you click on the links below.
