Call for Papers and Other SubmissionsThe 26th International Conference on Auditory DisplayVirtual Conference25-28 June 2021https://icad2021.icad.orgTHEME: "SOUNDING BOARD"In addition to being part of the resonating chamber in a musicalinstrument, the term sounding board is also a metaphor for a channelthrough which ideas are discussed and disseminated. ICAD, established in1992 has, through its 25 conference meetings, shared over 1,150 papers withthe auditory display community. This year, the conference will offer itselfas a sounding board for the community, allowing time to pause and reflecton the history of auditory display research, review how research haschanged throughout the years, and discuss future areas of inquiry as wellas how to adapt our research during these challenging times. Therefore, theICAD 2021 committee is seeking full papers, abstracts, concert pieces, demos, installations, workshops, and tutorials from across the fullspectrum of auditory display research and practice. From discussions andreflections on the history of auditory display research with a view togenerating new ways of thinking about how we as practitioners should goabout things, to speculative ideas or news of late-breaking work, submissions are sought across all the categories. We are particularlyinterested in hearing from researchers who have never considered themselvesto be part of the community before, or whose work sits at the periphery ofthe field.Important Dates:Full Papers - March 31stAbstract Only - April 30thWorkshops/Tutorials/Demos - April 30th Live Performances/Installations - April 30th Doctoral Consortium/ThinkTank - April 30th For details on topics of interest, proposal format, submissioninstructions, and additional conference information, please visithttps://icad2021.icad.org/call-for-participation/Papers Chairs:Areti Andreopoulou and Milena Droumevapapers@icad2021.icad.orgConference Chairs:Kyla McMullen and Paul Vickerschairs@icad2021.icad.orgAbout ICAD:First held in 1992, ICAD is a highly interdisciplinary conference withrelevance to researchers, practitioners, artists, and graduate studentsworking with sound to convey and explore information.
