Dear friends,
There are several awards to be made from the amazing pool of submitted and accepted HFES OETG abstracts.
I would like to invite authors of accepted submissions to consider applying for the Innovation in Occupational Ergonomics Award. You will have to apply to be considered for this award, details of eligibility and application process are provided below.
Description of the award: The Innovation in Occupational Ergonomics recognizes new and innovative research in occupational ergonomics that demonstrates a potential or demonstrated impact in the field of human factors and ergonomics (HF/E). Special considerations will be given to applicants who generate new knowledge through integrative efforts from multiple disciplines within and outside of HF/E, develop new tools/methodologies, and/or demonstrate positive changes in policies/practices.
Qualifications: Acceptance of submission for presentation for completed work at the annual HFES conference
Award nomination procedure:
- Wait until receipt of notification that the submission was accepted for presentation at the annual conference.
- The applicant should submit an application package, that includes:
- CV/resume of key author
- The accepted HFES paper
- At least one (no more than 2) recommendation letters – outside of co-authors
- Submit the documents as one PDF (labeled: lastname_OETGaward) to rmehta@tamu.edu.
- The deadline for submission is July 31st, 2019.
- A selection committee comprised of OETG members will review and score the submissions (a minimum of 5 applications are needed to generate this award).
- The awardee(s) will be presented his/her/their award (one plaque and $400) during the OETG business meeting at the HFES annual conference.
Award criteria:
- Significance of the research
- Innovation: The research is innovative and offers a fresh perspective, new direction, or improvement on existing knowledge, theories, and/or methods
- Impact of the research: The research has a demonstrated or potential impact on the field of occupational ergonomics
- Recommendation letter(s)
Wait, wait... THERE's MORE!!!
We are also establishing the Best Research Paper Awards, which promote and acknowledge outstanding original research conducted by independent researchers (one award) and students (2 awards) on significant occupational ergonomics challenges and applications. For this award, all accepted submissions are being considered automatically, and top submissions will be rated by an OETG awards committee.
