Division Director of Vehicle Safety (517702)
With every turn of the ignition switch, with every step onto a bus, research conducted at the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute makes a difference in millions of day-to-day lives. VTTI seeks a talented new Division Director to marry the conduct of research and business administration in a way that fosters the resolution of complex problems through the application of advanced research and development techniques, and the ability to plan, develop, coordinate, and implement cross-functional transportation research projects. This role oversees the Division of Vehicle Systems and Safety (DVSS). The DVSS includes the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute's (VTTI's) connected vehicle, advanced and automated vehicle systems, advanced product test and evaluation, motorcycle research, and policy groups. This position provides vision, leadership, coordination and specialized expertise for the research, development, and evaluation of next-generation vehicle systems, in addition to coordination and direction of public policy initiatives and research.
