The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at RPI is recruiting for a tenure track/tenured professorship with an emphasis on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.This is part of the multi-year joint effort between Rensselaer and IBM that involves Rensselaer faculty and IBM researchers to push the frontiers of AI and ML research and tackle key global challenges.
The Department is especially interested in candidates who have a demonstrated ability to pursue high impact research in applying AI and ML to real-world problems in industrial and systems engineering, as well as fundamental algorithmic developments. ISE applications include, but are not limited to, optimization in machine learning, optimization theory, statistical learning theory, robust AI/ML, cyber-physical systems, and big data analytics. Illustrative application domains include supply chains, healthcare systems, cognitive systems engineering, climate change and resilience in networked systems.
