The Industrial Engineering and Industrial Management Department of the Mercer University School of Engineering in Macon, Georgia invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor starting August 2022. Qualified candidates in all areas of industrial engineering and engineering management are encouraged to apply.  Candidates with backgrounds in ergonomics/human factors or manufacturing are of particular interest. The successful candidate(s) for the tenure track position will have demonstrated excellence in teaching, an ability to develop undergraduate research opportunities, and the potential to contribute to the ongoing growth of the undergraduate and graduate programs. Mercer Engineering uses a core curriculum model and we would expect this faculty member to periodically teach fundamental engineering courses such as introduction to freshmen design and senior design capstone, among others. The ideal candidate should also have the ability to support Mercer University's signature Mercer on Mission Program (http://mom.mercer.edu/), which offers faculty unique opportunities to develop and lead sustainable international service and research projects, carried out with Mercer students and host-community collaborators.

A minimum of an earned Ph.D. from an ABET-accredited program in Industrial Engineering or related engineering field is required (or evidence that the Ph.D. will be complete by August 2022). Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience at the college level and consulting or industrial experience. Experience with professional organizations such as ABET, ASEE, IISE, etc. is highly desirable.

Mercer's undergraduate engineering program is ABET/EAC accredited. The School of Engineering offers both Bachelor and Master of Science in Engineering degrees with specializations in biomedical, civil, computer, electrical, environmental, industrial, and mechanical as well as engineering related programs in cyber systems, industrial management and technical communications. The undergraduate curriculum is dynamic, innovative, broadly based, and includes the option of an integrated BSE/MSE degree program for qualified candidates. Total engineering enrollment is over 750 students.

Mercer University is a private and comprehensive university and includes the Mercer Engineering Research Center in nearby Warner Robins, GA. The metropolitan Macon area, located 90 miles south of Atlanta, has a population of 250,000 and enjoys a four-season climate and a wealth of nearby historic, cultural, and recreational attractions.

The Mercer University School of Engineering embraces diversity and seeks candidates who will foster a climate that attracts students of all races, nationalities and genders.

Interested applicants will need to complete the brief online application and attach a letter of interest, current vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, and contact information for three professional references.  Please submit an application online, at https://www.mercerjobs.com/
