The Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) Affinity Group is committed to creating a community within the Society to connect thought leaders, senior managers, mid-career / young professionals, and students that identify as BIPOC – including Black, Indigenous, Asian, Latinos and Hispanics across the globe – to enhance the recruitment, retention, and professional growth of BIPOC in the HF/E field. We welcome non-BIPOC committed to use their position to serve as advocates for improving diversity equity and inclusion for BIPOC.

    Hello,

    The Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES) continues its seed grant program in support of research and programming that investigates and addresses the intersections of Human Factors/Ergonomics and Anti-Racism/Anti-Bias, which may help to obtainpreliminary data for future state, federal, foundation or other grant proposal mechanisms. The grant is for up to $5000 each, and the deadline is rapidly approaching. The application is relatively short:
    • Project description (3 page limit) 
    • Dissemination plan (1 page) 
    • Human subjects (1 page) 
    • Budget summary, including justification (2 pages)
    • List of key personnel (name, degrees, affiliation, role on the project) (1 page)
    • Curriculum vitae for each member of the proposal team (limit 3 pages each)
