The HFES society has decided to add a cybersecurity focus at their pre-conference ErgoX event this year, ErgoX "CYBER".
The Cyber TG leadership are helping to set up and organize a 1 day track the Sunday before the annual HFES 2020 conference - note that it will be focusing on non-ergonomics issues, so ErgoX is a bit of a misleading affiliation.
ErgoX "CYBER" will have two sessions, each with a keynote speaker--> followed by a panel of academics, industry and gov't folks --> followed by a breakout workshop session to generate ideas and roadmaps for Human Factors practitioners and researchers.
Our two general topics for ErgoX CYBER are tentatively "Human Factors of Trust and Deception in Cybersecurity", and "Lies, Pseudoscience and Hype in Cybersecurity Human Factors".
We are doing lots of work to recruit panelists, so if you know someone that has something to say, please send them my/our way ASAP. Most conference days never produce products: we will be different! We believe this will also foster collaborations and interaction with those outside everyone's normal operating areas.... a KEY to improving the human-cyber system. Please consider attending!
I'm sure the Society will do more announcing as we build our speakers and solidify the plans. I just wanted to share to prime the pumps.
Cheers,
Robert
