  • 1.  HFES Me and My VE 2019 -- Call for Demonstrations

    Posted 02-08-2019 16:12

    Hello everyone,

If you're receiving this, then you are doing cool and great work in the area of virtual environments, virtual reality and augmented reality. Based on the success of last year's Me and My VE event, we want to keep the momentum going and organize a session for HFES 2019 in Seattle, Washington. The turn-around on this is rather quick, so please act on this fast if you are interested in participating.

The "Me and My VE" format focuses on showcasing the state of the art in virtual environment, virtual reality, and augmented reality capabilities being researched and developed across academia, industry and government. The goal of the event is to provide a forum for folks to present and demonstrate hands-on virtual environment capabilities being applied across a diverse set of contexts (e.g., training and education, test and validation practices, design and planning exercises, and human factors oriented research studies). If you have an environment you want to show-off, this is the event for you!

We are looking for seven (7) interactive demonstrations to support the event. The event will occur during parallel paper sessions and last 90-minutes. Each presenter/demonstration will be given a short window of time to introduce the audience to what they will see and experience. The remainder of the time will be dedicated to audience interaction with all of the demonstrations.

    What's needed from you:
    (1) An email stating your interest in participating and a brief (3-5 sentences) description of the technology you would like to demonstrate.

Following approval from the organizing chairs, you will be instructed to

    provide:

    (1) 3 Paragraph write-up that describes the Virtual Environment application to be demonstrated.

    (2) Video/Audio/Computing requirements to support your demonstration.

The write-up will be included in a paper submission (with authorship) for inclusion in the HFES proceedings. This paper will incorporate an Introduction describing the event, a description of each VE included, and a conclusion.

If you have any questions, or want to talk about the event, please contact me at the email or phone numbers below.

    Best,

    Ben
