Hello everyone -
I want to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Heather Wojton. I currently chair this technical group. I am an experimental psychologist who evaluates the quality of human-system interaction during the operational testing of weapon systems. I apologize that it has taken so long for me to reach out to you all.
During the past few months, I've been reading through all the HFES technical group materials and working to implement the re-branding effort that the prior chair started, changing our name from the test and evaluation TG to the usability and system evaluation (USE) TG. Our hope is that we will be able to capture the interest of a wider audience since the methods underlying test and evaluation are critical for all HF researchers and practitioners. Moving forward, I will be working with the officers to revise our TG description. You should expect to see a draft in the next month (if not sooner). We welcome any feedback you many have.
Additionally, I wanted to reach out and alert everyone that the deadline for HFES2019 proposals are due on March 4th. Please consider submitting your work to the USE track. We are interested in any work related to the quantitative or qualitative methods underlying usability and system evaluation, the implementation of these methods, and any lessons learned. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to reach out.
