Hello, PDTGers!
Your PDTG officers have been hard at work preparing the 2020 program and figuring out what it will mean to run the first ever online HFES conference due to the cancellation of the in-person event. We have made great progress in putting together a compelling program, including a guest speaker who will present on designing for disability. We would like to invite your participation to inform how we might best run a virtual networking event, and in refilling our ranks as we seek to replace officers, including me, whose terms are ending this year. Finally, our program chairs have written a thoughtful piece contemplating how Covid-19 may change our home environment. Please find all of the details in the attached PDF newsletter.
I want to especially highlight the call for new officer nominations for 2021-2022. We are looking to refill our ranks with a new Chair, Program Chair Elect, and Communications chair. It's a great way to get involved with the community, guide the group towards your vision, and get a little visibility and professional recognition. Please send nominations to me by June 30 (
dan0@yahoo.com), with just a few short sentences on the nominee and interest the role. Self-nominations are typical and encouraged. The only requirements are that officers must be full members of HFES, PDTG members, and able and willing to fulfill the not-too-demanding needs of the role.
